La tête dans les Pommes Orchards

More than 25 varieties of apple (all grown without the use of chemical pesticides), free tastings, a small farm, areas for picnics and playgrounds for kids, tractor rides, a rustic store and more. All in all, a nice family getaway to discover new things and have some fun!

  • Who are we?

We are the owners of the La tête dans les Pommes Orchard located in St-Joseph-du-Lac in the Lower Laurentians, Nicholas Lauzon and Marylin Courchesne. We are in our mid-thirties and we have 4 handsome boys. We’ve been working in the agriculture and apple industry for 15 years as an agriculture technician (Nicholas) and as an agronomist (Marylin). In April 2018, our business grew when we bought this green and environmentally friendly orchard that offers many services and all kinds of activities. With this new addition, we can build relationships with people by opening our doors and offering apple picking activities at the farm.

  • Our goals

Our mission is to share with you our passion for the apple industry as we welcome you into our orchard in a warm and friendly setting. We want to offer people the opportunity to discover new apples, and a lot of them were created right here in our town by La Pomme de Demain. Therefore, we have several varieties for you to discover! Furthermore, it is important for us to meet your expectations and fulfill your needs, and that is why we offer many services, personalized packages and different kinds of activities that are all super fun. You should know that we are committed to the protection of the environment. For this reason, we have opted for the organic farming system. Our orchard (apples, plums, raspberries, garlic, grapes) is certified ORGANIC by Ecocert Canada.

  • Our story

We met in 2002 while we were studying at the ITA in St-Hyacinthe and dreaming of becoming farmers. Since we were not from farming families, acquiring a land was not an easy task and it finally happened in 2014, with the help of M. Yvon Masson. He offered us to lease and to use the orchard for the next 30 years. The production of this orchard was mostly used for supermarket sales. We are members of the Naturparc cooperative, a group of apple growers who produce and deliver their apples to the big food chains. In April 2018, our business grew when we bought the Pommalefun orchard. This orchard is presenting us with new challenges and helping us grow closer to the public.
